Wisconsin Rental Weatherization Program Compliance
For multifamily dwellings purchased in Wisconsin, provisions for compliance with the Wisconsin Rental Weatherization Program must be included in the property transfer terms. A buy-sell agreement should stipulate whether the buyer or seller will assume responsibility for obtaining a Certificate of Compliance issued by an inspector certified by the Department of Commerce. Depending on the outcome of the inspection, a buyer may be responsible for bringing the property up to standards within a year.
In order to provide total transparency and straightforward guidance, our firm facilitates the completion of these energy efficiency inspections. During the process, we ensure that both parties are fully aware of what needs to be done, when weatherization should be completed, and who is financially responsible for its completion.
